Yoga for Anxiety and Depression w/Deb Sampson
An eight week counseling group for adults diagnosed with anxiety or depression. Each session combines counseling, a yoga practice and meditation building on the previous week.
The exercises will help each individual to develop an understanding of how they use behaviors to escape or control thoughts, feelings, memories and physical sensations that trigger anxiety and depression. The group will be using yoga to practice Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) that will encourage individuals to understand their values and boundaries, while learning new behaviors to move toward a more fulfilling life.
if you have a yoga mat, please bring it with you. If not, we have mats at the studio that you may use, in addition to any other props you may need.
